There is nothing better that the Left likes to do than to smear the Right. Conservatives are labelled: bigots, racists, haters, homophobes, violent gun-toting fools who cling to their religion. The list is endless.  Here are some recent stories of things happening in Tampa in preparation for the RNC. You be the judge as to which side is more civilized.
The leftists code their tacit approval of violence in the phrase “respecting a diversity of actions,†which asserts that no protester should stop another protester from using violence or vandalism, nor should they report them to authorities if they know of such plans in advance.
Occupy the RNC, which calls itself the “above-ground coordinating committee†for the protest marches, affirms the “diversity of tactics†pledge as part of the “Tampa Principlesâ€Â detailed on their website:
Our solidarity will be based on respect for a political diversity within the struggle for social, economic and environmental justice. As individuals and groups, we may choose to engage in different tactics and plans of action but are committed to treating each other with respect. We reject all attempts to create divisions among our movements. We agree to not publicly criticize other parts of our movement or cooperate with state or media efforts to portray good protester/bad protester.
The actions and tactics used will be organized to maintain appropriate separations of time and space between divergent tactics. We will commit to respecting each others organizing space and the tone and tactics they wish to utilize in that space.
Not only does the first statement tacitly encourage violence, but Occupy the RNC has the gall to assert elsewhere on their website that they are not endorsing violence.
Here are some of the “non-violent†actions the leftists plan:
           Trespassing in restricted security areas
Refusing to cooperate with police efforts to maintain order
           Blockading and disrupting businesses
Providing certain types of support and cover for protesters who are planning to harass private citizens, damage private property, and attack police; this support includes:
Offering a map with the locations of hotels housing the Republican delegates
Offering a map pinpointing “evil†and “oppressive†corporations to be targeted for unnamed “decentralized direct actionsâ€
Pledging to defend the Tampa Principles: a statement of commitment to all protest tactics, specifically including property destruction and violence against police and other targets

Then there’s that lovable group the New Black Panthers (new but not improved.)
The Anarchists sure sound fun too:
Associated Press: TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa police said Tuesday that they confiscated pipes, bricks and other “suspicious†items from the rooftop of a downtown building located about a mile from where next week’s Republican National Convention will be held.
Tampa Police Chief Jane Castor said she believes the items were put there by protesters for use during RNC demonstrations. She added that some RNC-related graffiti was also found at the building, but wouldn’t elaborate.
Tampa police’s finding also comes on the heels of a troubling protest video, posted online by a person claiming to be from the hacktivist group Anonymous. Images of a burning car and riot police are accompanied by the message: “You have an opportunity to fight back at the Republican National Convention. How you fight back is up to you … but it is a fact that flowers and holding up signs stopped working long ago.”
Yup, clearly we have to be concerned about those dangerous Tea-Partiers.

If the police in Tampa are unable to protect citizens’ private property, which I doubt they can, then It is my sincerest hope that the citizens will give these communist an eternal lesson in the defense of property property.

Jeff, as appealing as it might sound, the left is doing its best to provoke violence. The moral high ground is something that we should never cede.

Dear Martin,
I would suggest that it is immoral to cede one’s private property no matter what ground it is on.

Yes, I have to agree. I don’t look forward to the ramifications. The left is looking for any excuse to impose tyranny and support their, thus far baseless claims of Tea Part/Conservative violence.
Dear Martin,
I would suggest it is immoral to cede one’s private property no matter what ground it is on.
