Forgiven has great lyrics and an awesome sound.  While there are some similarities to a lot of other artists, their sound is unique and lends itself to many repeat listens.
The first track, Heart Won’t Tell a Lie, is reminiscent of Stevie Ray Vaughn, almost eerily so. The bluesy (is that a word?) rock guitar could be easily confused with Vaughn.
The title track has a definite religious tone with some pretty prayerful lyrics. It is reminiscent of Jeff Healy in style.
Staying With Me features some B.J. Thomas-like vocal sounds, especially in the chorus.
The acoustic guitar in Loving You Always is really cool with hints of flamenco style.
They returned to a Stevie Ray Vaughn guitar sound in their cover of I’m a Man (Steve Winwood).
The song, Make It Better, is almost Beatlesque (note all the new words being coined?) and some of the vocals sound like John Elefante. Great stuff.
The track, Superman might not the most melodic or well sung song, but it has a lot of character and the lyrics are great.
This was a very satisfying purchase. Â It’s definitely original, with a lot of energy, but not so much that you get fatigued listening to it.
