President George Bush, his wife Laura and 20 US volunteers helped paint and refurbish the Mosi-oa-Tunya Clinic in Zambia, which was in pretty bad shape.
This isn’t Mr. Bush’s first visit to Zambia for humanitarian purposes, either,
Last year, Mr Bush joined local officials and other volunteers to refurbish Ngungu Health Centre in Kabwe where he opened a cervical cancer screening centre in the country. AllAfrica.com

What a difference there is between pompous magnitude and humble servitude. One tears down while the other builds up.

Yes, exactly. You can tell what’s important to the man that was once the leader of the free world. In the midst of all the hateful attacks, he never once responded in kind. He kept his dignity and that of the office.
While I didn’t always agree with him (the Patriot Act, Prescription Drug Program, No Child Left Behind, etc) I never doubted his patriotism, motivation, or integrity.
I wish I could say the same for our current president.

I couldn’t agree more, Martin. I didn’t agree with some of the decisions President Bush made while he was in office, but the difference between him and the current resident in the White House is staggering. Can you imagine Obama getting his hands dirty for some of the causes Bush is championing? Not a chance.

Eventually, Barack and Michelle Obama will be released from the White House “prison”. Then we’ll see how much volunteer assistance they will give. And, no, replacing your own divot after your fairway approach shot on the 14th hole doesn’t count.
