The Iron Fist in the Velvet Glove

If nothing else you have to credit the left for tenacity. Expert at using “the children” as an excuse for his insatiable drive to expand government, Obama pulled federally funded pre-school out of his somewhat dusty bag of tricks.   Read the rest of this entry »

A Sad Chronicle of American Life: Fred On Everything

For your daily dose of reality (make that depression) ... Government came like a dust storm of fine choking powder, making its way into everything. You could no longer build a shed without a half-dozen permits and inspections. You couldn’t swim without a lifeguard, couldn’t use your canoe without Coast-Guard approved flotation devices and a card saying that you had taken an approved course in how to canoe. Cops proliferated with speed traps. The government began spying on email, requiring licenses and permits for everything, and deciding what could and could not be taught to one’s children, who one had to associate with, and what one could think about what or, more usually, whom. Separation of Powers

Obama s doing what he said he would do faced with an obstinate Republican majority in the House and a divided Senate. His arrogant assurance of infallibility is coupled with a will to power so great that opposition is now intolerable. That explains why Mr. Obama is intent, not on finding solutions to America’s manifold problems, but on vilifying Republicans. The Republican Party must be delegitimized so the electorate pulls mostly Democrat levers in 2014. Only then will President Obama be fully empowered to do what he came to do – transform the nation to match his vision of social and economic justice.   Read the rest of this entry »

The Rule of Law

The rule of law is the foundation for our liberties and our economy. It means that no one is above the law, not our neighbor and not our president.   Read the rest of this entry »

Never Let a Crisis Go To Waste

Just when you thought he couldn’t sink any lower, he exceeds your expectations. The photo of President Obama signing twenty-three executive orders sighted in on the Second Amendment demonstrates that this man and his party will use any means and anyone, including children, to further their agenda.   Read the rest of this entry »

Friends of Liberty By Gary B. Nash and Graham Russell Gao Hodges

Authors Nash and Hodges weave the lives of three men into the American founding’s complex tapestry of slavery and liberty. They examine Thomas Jefferson, Tadeusz Kosciuszko and Agrippa Hull and their responses to the political compromise that both made the American experiment possible and contradicted its founding principles.   Read the rest of this entry »

The Real Cause of The Benghazi Tragedy

Organizations, whether large or small, have unique cultures determined by their leaders. If the top level is careless, it will be reflected through the ranks in the way business is conducted. If the top level is reluctant to take responsibility when things go wrong, but regularly seeks someone to blame, the lower echelons will be reluctant to exercise initiative and make decisions. If those at the top are obsessed by organization politics, decisions at lower levels will be made on the basis of political advantage rather than by determining what is best for the organization or those it serves.   Read the rest of this entry »

The Campaign Is Over

Will someone please tell the president the campaign is over? He is back out on the hustings reading from the old class warfare script. He preens. He fabricates successes where there are none. He makes promises he has no intention of keeping.   Read the rest of this entry »
