Moscow December 25, 1991 The Last Day of the Soviet Union By Conor O’Clery

This is the story of the way an empire – The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics – ended. While much of the rest of he world was celebrating Christmas, the Soviet Union quietly slipped beneath the waters of history. After a cynical effort to replace the Union with a federation, the territories over which the USSR claimed dominion floated away, leaving only Russia bobbing in their wake.   Read the rest of this entry »

What Did the President Know and When Did He Know It?

The actions of a president are again being questioned, this time in the weeks leading up to a national election. Was the public misled by Obama and others because the truth exposed a careless disregard for the safety of the consulate and our ambassador, despite evidence that both were at risk?   Read the rest of this entry »

Obama At The UN

For those able to read Obama’s entire UN speech without gagging, take heart. It could have been worse. He didn’t say “pretty please” in his whine to the Muslims to control the terrorists among them. Wrong-headed Rice

Susan Rice shares the mythical Obama universe in which the UN, to cite Rice’s April 7, 2011 testimony before Congress, “is important to American security.” Rice argued that America should “meet our financial obligations to the U.N” because doing so “would make Americans safer.” Feel safer?   Read the rest of this entry »

Progressive or Regressive …

The conceit of progressivism is that it is modern and scientific, ever improving the human condition through government action. In fact, it is neither. At its most basic level it is what Nietzsche called “the will to power;” and what the Founders recognized as the natural human desire for domination. They devised the separation of powers and federalism to protect individual liberty by imposing limits on government. It is no accident that Obama relentlessly attacks these limitations with executive orders and Obama Care.   Read the rest of this entry »

Foreign Policy – What Foreign Policy?

In the imaginary world in which our president resides, all that is necessary to transform enemies into friends is understanding and empathy. In 2007 Obama intoned: “The day I am inaugurated Muslim hostility will ease. … If I’m reaching out to the Muslim world they understand that I’ve lived in a Muslim country and I may be a Christian, but I also understand their point of view… I think the world will have confidence that I am listening to them and that our future and our security is tied up with our ability to work with other countries in the world that will ultimately makes us safer…”   Read the rest of this entry »
