The whole global warming / global cooling / climate change / green collar economy push is such a scam.
In the 24 hours since the momentous recall election in Wisconsin there have been many pundits who have given their opinion on the election results. And in the spirit of fair and unbiased urine analysis the Manhattan Infidel now offers a postmortem on the election.
Although we complain a lot about the influence of lobbyist, lobbying is a legitimate function in a democracy. When a law or regulation is being proposed by government, those that will be affected have a right to express their concerns either positive or negative.
…
President Obama has deliberately staffed all regulatory agencies with anti-business people. We see it in the EPA, the NLRB, the DOJ and, every other agency. We conservative bloggers post about the negative effects of this all the time. Now we know it has a name: Regulatory Capture.
The possibility of having Marco Rubio as Mitt Romney’s pick for his running mate in the presidential election is already sending shivers through Obama’s campaign strategists.
Our Attorney General spent yesterday lying his head off to Congress. There’s really no other way to put it,and it was a rare display of dishonesty and arrogance, even for Washington.

If you listen to the occupods, the mythical 99% are being completely fleeced by the equally mythical 1%. Class warfare is a stubborn thing, but reality always wins in the end.
Rep. Marchant demands DOJ investigation into blogger SWAT-tings
“Washington, Jun 7 – Congressman Kenny Marchant (TX-24) today issued a statement in strong support of free speech and conservative bloggers who are being targeted in dangerous SWAT-tings and asked Attorney General Holder to investigate these matters to see if federal laws have been violated by the perpetrators.”
President Obama Increasingly Isolated in Support for Tax Hikes on Small Business Job Creators, GOP United
There is a growing rift amongst Democrats in Washington that has left President Obama and some Democratic leaders increasingly isolated in their support for raising taxes on small business job …
Rick Santorum says he’s been thinking about the overwhelming support from our grassroots family.
The Arizona Conservative is endorsing these candidates (Arizona candidates for the August 28 primary elections).
“You have to balance your budget, or you go broke. To make government simpler, smaller, and smarter we have to take government itself and make it more productive and more efficient. We can’t keep buying and spending and passing on debts to our kids. American strength is the best ally peace has ever known.

Krauthammer on the bitter defeat suffered by the Progressivist monobloc Tuesday: The real threat behind all this, however, was that the new law ended automatic government collection of union dues. That was the unexpressed and politically inexpressible issue. That was the reason the unions finally decided to gamble on a high-risk recall.
Remembering the sacrifice made by those who stormed the beaches at Normandy – Utah, Omaha, Juno, Gold, and Sword – and were dropped into France in the largest use of airborne troops ever used to that point. A video from the United States Army. More than 9000 Allied troops died on those beaches that day.
The Nazis were evil. Any insight into their principles and methods will shed light on how such horrors can be perpetrated by civilized human beings, remind us that human beings can and do give themselves over to evil, and hopefully allow us to act against similar projects if we see them being enacted before us in the world today.
Montesquieu was a French social commentator and first-rate political thinker who lived during the Enlightenment. Although he most famous for his influential writings on the benefits of separating political powers up between three branches of government, another important concept that he wrote about was virtue.
Montesquieu thought that the State should be a reflection of the people- “The government most comfortable to nature is that which best agrees with the humour and disposition of the people in whose favour it is established.
Recently at the Miss USA pageant, Miss Ohio, Audrey Bolte, was asked the inane question, Do you think women are depicted in movies and on television in an accurate and positive way? And please give us an example.â€
Was the principle afraid of, that his graduating students would get “Right-Wing Conservative†cooties? OR…that after 12 years of public schooling they may be exiting with their [individual] minds intact, with the ability to decide for themselves what path to follow? God forbid!

LD Jackson Federal Law Enforcement Can’t Call Border Patrol For Backup
This ruling by the Agriculture Departments assistant secretary for civil rights could change policies nationwide as law enforcement agencies grapple with how far they can go in trying to help the Border Patrol while not running afoul of racial profiling standards.
Not every single parent wants your sympathy. Many of them take the challenge on head first and make nothing of the situation, but we have all seen that single parent who feels ‘beat up’ by life. Make sure you are ready for the responsibility before you engage in parenthood.

No, you can’t. Because that would be racist. Or so the Left tells us.
During his press conference this morning President Obama was asked about the recent rash of national security leaks, some of which put the lives of US agents in danger. If you want to watch video of his awkward response go to The Hill. He feigned outrage, but he didn’t seem that outraged. He also claimed that there’s no way any of the leaks came from the White House. “The notion that my White House would purposely release classified national security information is offensive,†Obama said at a brief White House news conference. “It’s wrong.†He said his policy is one of “zero tolerance for these kinds of leaks and speculation.†“If we can root out folks who have leaked, they will suffer consequences … we will conduct thorough investigations as we have in the past,†he said. He’s so outraged that he refuses to even consider appointing a special prosecutor to look into the matter. Peggy Noonan addressed the national security leaks, and how even Democrats are calling foul in her weekend column.
If Brett Kimberlin and Neal Rauhauser are not under FBI surveillance, why the hell not?
Is the words on this campaign poster against Rep. Steve Rothman in the upcoming Democratic Primary. The latest tactic in campaigning. Now it is outright anti-Semitism. A Democratic primary race in northern New Jersey has devolved into a highly competitive proxy war over Israel, pitting the states pro-Israel community against a growing constituency of Arab voters who have accused a sitting congressman of putting Israels interests before Americas.
England is having a party. This week we celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee, sixty years on the throne, only the second time in our history that we have seen such an occasion, the first being for Queen Victoria in 1897. But then Victoria, for so long in morbid isolation and declining in health, was the ghost at the party, the ghost of a passing age. Not so Elizabeth, as active, as involved, as committed and as dutiful as ever.Â
For the time being, President Obama has moved away from energy as the campaign theme du jour, especially as gas prices have calmed down.
But of who? Last year the state of Florida began reviewing its voter registration roles in order to purge them of ineligible voters such as anyone who is not a US Citizen. Eric Holders DOJ is now demanding that the state stop doing so.
Remember when the Democrats told us Obamacare would lead to tremendous budget savings and huge cuts in the federal deficit?
Have you ever met someone who claimed to be conservative to the bone and then turned around and threw their support behind bigger government? If the answer is yes well you’re not alone.
There are two measures on the North Dakota ballot next Tuesday. One measure eliminates property taxes while the other strengthens and preserves religious freedom for the individual. The goal conservatives should be striving to achieve is less government, less regulation, lower taxes, and empowering the individual at all levels. Many so-called conservatives are not really embracing these core principles. Instead they’re throwing their support behind bigger government involvement in their lives.

President Barack Obama’s deputies are holding “hundreds†of closed-door meetings with a jihad-linked lobbying group that is widely derided by critics as a U.S. arm of the theocratic Muslim Brotherhood.

My pleasure. I have to admit, I had never heard the term Regulatory Capture before reading your post – in either sense. Sounds like corruption, pure and simple.

Thanks for the link, Martin. Looks like lots of good stuff up there. One thing’s for sure — with Obama, there’s always plenty to read & write about. Or should I say, to expose…
